I was going through some of my old blog posts and came across an old series I used to do and was inspired to bring it back, especially since I never really ended it. It’s a fashion series where I share how to style a trendy piece in three different ways — a casual, work and night out outfit. You can find more from this series here if you’d like.
Over the knee boots are nothing new anymore, but they are still highly in style and very loved amongst top fashion bloggers. While I personally don’t own a pair of thigh highs, I find them to be so fashionable! So I’ve put together 3 different outfits that I think would go great with a killer pair of OTK boots!
I know Stuart Weitzman boots are the “in” thing…but let’s be real here, not everyone wants to, or can, buy a pair of $800 boots. The boots pictured below are UNDER $100, and look pretty darn similar if you ask me. These Sam Edelman boots are also super similar to the SW’s at only $130 and they are flat.
For the casual gal’s out there, I figured a comfy, oversized sweater would be perfect. Paired with some gray skinnies and a warm beanie, you’d be ready to go shopping or have brunch with friends. Add some dainty earrings, a big watch, easy to carry backpack and fun sunglasses and you have an entire outfit. If you aren’t an OTK boot kinda gal, you can totally swap them for some sneakers or flats!
I think styling a pair of thigh highs for work can be difficult, especially depending on what kind of profession you are in. But I wanted to keep with the original concept of this series and I went for it. I opted for a tweed skirt and tie neck blouse to keep things looking professional. The coat is absolutely gorgeous (and pricey, but I linked a few other coats that resemble it, for much less) and so is the bag. Simple and classic jewelry pieces like these earrings and bracelet, really tied the look together.
Finally, for a night out…faux leather leggings were a must, along with a flirty bodysuit. To add some drama, I added this beautiful maxi trench (only $35!) A cool choker, edgy ear crawlers and a pretty clutch finish off this cool outfit.
I really hope you like that I brought back this series and hope you look forward for more. I love incorporating more fashion posts on the blog — and I know you all like them too (thanks to those who took my survey!)
Are you into OTK boots? If so, how do you wear them? Let’s chat below!
