I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t have time, or quite frankly the energy, to wash my hair every single day. So I am always looking for ways to style my hair in different ways to make it less noticeable, if you will. Today, I’m sharing my first ever, so please don’t judge, braid headband.
When I say first ever…I mean this was the first time my millionth attempt at any type of french/dutch braid actually turned out pretty decent. So it’s safe to say, that this will be a summer go-to hairstyle when my hair is dirty and when I want to keep my hair out of my face during the heat.
I’m sure by now most of you know about my hair — I have a lot of hair, but it’s fine and it has no texture or grip at all. Thankfully I tried out some new hair products that are going to be staples in my hair product cabinet. The Kenra Professional Grip Collection (which is now all available at Ulta) has been essential for my hair lately…like I mentioned, my hair doesn’t have any grip or texture, and most texturing products weigh my hair down even more and make it feel more dirty…which is a total no for me.
For this hairstyle, I begin by using the Whip Grip Mousse 9 the day I wash my hair. I use a tiny amount and have had no issues — it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel stiff. It also claims to give volume, I’ll be honest, I don’t notice any volume, but I’ve said this many times…nothing gives my hair volume. By day 2, or 3 of dirty hair, I begin by spraying the area where my braid will lay with the Air Grip Spray 5. This spray is a game changer for my hair, it provides so much grip making it so easy to braid my hair. No slipping at all! Once I’ve finished my hairstyle, I finish it off with a the High Grip Spray 20, to lock my hair in place. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, these products smell divine, too!
I totally recommend this new line to anyone who has the same problems as I do. Since learning to do these super easy hairstyle, I’ve been rocking it non-stop!
