It’s so hard to believe that 2013 has come to an end! Every year I say the same thing, this year just flew on by, but honestly…where did 2013 go?!?
It’s been one heck of a year and I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store! I’m so thankful to have so many beautiful, amazing blogging friends, and I only hope to have our friendships grow with the years to come!
Enough blabbing, let’s get to my favorites for the month of December!
December 2013 Favorites
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
-I have to admit, I was pretty hesitant to try this foundation, I read many mixed reviews…but I finally caved and bought it a few months back. I reached for it a lot during November and most of this month. It’s a medium coverage, natural finish foundation, so it’s great for everyday wear. The only thing I don’t like about this foundation, it can easily look cake-y and tends to crease a bit around my mouth, but it’s nothing too horrible.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
-I was pleasantly surprised by this concealer, great coverage and hydrating. I don’t find this concealer to be drying at all. I’ve used it so much, I think I need to buy another one already! Definitely worth trying!
Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer and Treatment
-As some of you may know, I have horrible dark undereye circles. So I’m always on the hunt for a good concealer. I heard great reviews on the Eve Pearl duo so I decided to give it a try. My good friend Dani, from +CoffeeBreakwithDani, warned me that it was so creamy and hydrating, that it would crease. She was right, but a little creasing isn’t as bad as zombie eyes, in my book. I apply the smallest amount of the salmon corrector and over it I apply whichever concealer I’m using that day. This little duo really helps conceal my dark, zombiefied eyes! The concealer side, I don’t use under my eyes, I actually use that to ‘carve’ out my eyebrows every now and then.
Estee Lauder Blush Quad
-I’ve really enjoyed the Estee Lauder Holiday set I got a while back, you can find swatches and a look here. I’ve used this quad quite a lot recently, I used it when I did makeup for a family members event earlier this month, and everyone loved it as much as I do.
-Somehow the picture I took got deleted, so here is an old blog post picture, the quad is on the right.-
Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched
-This bronzer is quite sheer and a bit shimmery for my taste, so I don’t use it as a bronzer. For days where I want a more natural look, I use this as a blush. It gives me a really pretty glow-y look.
Lorac Pro Palette
-Everyone and their moms raves about this palette, and I agree with every single one of them! The shadows are insanely pigmented and super buttery!
Lorac Front of the Line Pro Eyeliner
-I still am not too comfortable with liquid eyeliner, but this pen is so easy to work with. It’s so pointy and quite sturdy, making it great for a dramatic wing! It’s so dark and extremely long-wearing, it takes quite a few swipes of eye makeup remover to remove this bad boy!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 1999
-This cranberry color was perfect for this time of year, I used it a lot on my lower lash line for some color, it also makes a good base for eyeshadows. UD has nailed it with their eyeliners, I literally want one in every single color…maybe two!
Maybelline Color Whisper in Berry Ready
-This lip butter got a ton of use these last few weeks, it’s the perfect berry shade for this time of year. However, it is a lip butter so it’s not long-wearing, but great for dry, chapped lips. See the rest of my ‘lip butter’ collection here.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in Showy and Shameless
-I’ll start by saying that I don’t like matte lipsticks, they are so drying and I absolutely HATE that feeling…but boy, oh boy, do I love these!! They are not drying at all and they leave a nice minty, tingly feeling on your lips.
So that’s what I’ve been loving this past month!
I hope you all have had a wonderful 2013 and an even better 2014!!
Until next time beauties!
Daily Nuggets
♥ Today is my momma’s birthday, I will be baking a cake for her.
♥ I’m pretty bummed that football is almost over.
♥ Yesterday was a super hard day on us, we lost our dog, Muffin. She was 6 years old, going on 7. My husband bought her on our first date, she was so tiny. She was hands down the best dog, fur baby, and companion. We miss her so much!
