Hello my loves!
I hope you all had a great week!
For today’s post, I have a little review for you guys. I received the EM by Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Clean Volume Mascara in an Ipsy bag a couple of months ago. I saved the pretty white tube for later since I had several tubes open at the time. So here is what I think of this mascara.
EM by Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Clean Volume Mascara
Price: $20
Size: 0.236 fl. oz.
Colors: Black
What the company says: “gives your lashes clean, fresh volume without clumps
uniquely designed fluffy brush sweeps on buildable volume for clean lashes with rich color.”
Packaging | The mascara tube comes in a traditional cardboard box with Michelle Phan’s logo on the front. The tube itself is very sleek and white, definitely not cheap packaging. I really like it, it’s very modern.
Application | The wand is a tapered wand, that starts thicker at the top and getting a bit smaller towards the end. As far as the formula on this mascara, it’s more on the wet side, The first coat went on great, my lashes were very defined and separated. I had no clumps while applying the first coat.
The second coat went on just as nicely as the first one, but I did notice a few clumps, nothing too bad though. As I went to apply a third coat, however, the clumps were much more noticeable.
Wear | Throughout the day, I did see some fallout on my cheeks, but it wasn’t anything too obvious or a deal breaker. My lashes didn’t feel hard or “crunchy” at all. They held a curl all day long, and did not feel heavy. Towards the very end of a long day, there was some smudging on my lower lash line.
Pros | Volumizing
Very Black
Holds A Curl
Cons | Some Smudging
Some Fallout
Clumping After Second Coat
-Left–two coats of mascara, Right–no mascara-
-Two coats of mascara, tried building another coat to right eye and as you can see, it started to clump.-
Final Thoughts
Overall, I can’t say I’m in love with this mascara, it’s not bad but it’s not blowing my socks off. I think it’s good for everyday wear–although it can get a bit pricey–I don’t think it’s the mascara to reach for if I’m looking for a bit more drama. Personally, it’s just okay, I can think of several drugstore mascaras that give me the same results, CoverGirl Clump Crusher or Lash Blast Volume from CoverGirl as well.
Will I Repurchase?
Honestly, no. I just wasn’t impressed, it’s not a horrible mascara, but it’s not the best either. I give this 3 out 5 stars.
That’s it for now ladies!
Have you tried this mascara?
