Hey my loves! Happy Valentine’s Day!
I didn’t have time to post another Valentine’s Day look, but, in case you are looking for some last minute inspiration, you can find not only one…but five other makeup looks by clicking here. I collaborated with a few other gorgeous ladies to create some great looks for the lovely holiday.
Okay, on to the point of this post! You guys all probably remember my previous post on the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters…well it’s no secret that I LOVE them–well my love for Revlon lip products keeps on growing! I recently tried a few Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms, well when I first heard about this line, I was a bit bummed. Why? I hate, hate matte lip products, they tug at the lips and they are drying! But…these lippies have completely won my heart over!
Let’s get on to a review and some swatches, shall we?
Price: $6.49 – $8.99
Color Selection: 10 Color Choices
What the company says: “Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm
A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors.”
Application & Packaging | The packaging is very much like the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains, it’s in a crayon form that twists up…so no sharpening. The only difference with these, the packaging is matte…just like the lipsticks. The color outside of the tube is somewhat close to the color inside.
For the most part they all apply evenly, with the exception of Shameless and Showy…they both are a bit patchy when applying. It takes a little more work to apply these, the other colors glide on easily.
Top to Bottom | Complex, Elusive, Unapologetic, Showy, Sultry, Shameless, Standout
Formula | They have the usual minty smell, which I love! They are super creamy, definitely not like your usual matte lipstick. I don’t find these lip crayons to be drying on my lips…trust me, if they were drying…I would hate them.
Wear | I get about 4-5 hours of wear time for the lighter shades, without eating. With Shameless and Showy, I get less of a wear time, so I have to reapply often.
Shameless
-Towards the end (Standout & Shameless) my lips were hating me…so it looks a bit messy, sorry.-
These pictures were taken with a flash.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m extremely happy with these balms. They are definitely right up my alley, creamy, pigmented, and not drying on the lips–something I look for in most lip products. I recommend these to anyone who isn’t a fan of matte lipsticks! Give them a try, I was shocked at how much I liked them!
Will I Repurchase?
Well, I am only missing 3 colors from the collection…I might pick up one of the orange shades for summer time. So yes, I would repurchase!
I hope you ladies enjoyed this post and maybe found it helpful!
Have you tried any of these matte balms?
What color is your favorite?
Until next time beauties!
