The Balm How ‘Bout Them Apples | Review

May 20, 2014 · In: Makeup, Uncategorized

I love blushes, so when I saw The Balm had released a cheek and lip cream palette, I knew it had to be mine—I also love The Balm, in case you didn’t know. 😉

So let me share my thoughts, as well as some swatches with you guys!

How ‘Bout Them Apples

Price: $32.00

Size: 20g/0.7oz — 6 cream shades

Colors: Cider, Cobbler, Pie, Crisp, Candy, Caramel

What the company says: “How ‘Bout Them Apples?” is a multi-functioning lip and cheek cream palette. Each freshly picked color is formulated to have a smooth finish that won’t streak or fade, so there are no bad apples in this bunch!

The Rundown

  • 6 colors that can be used on either cheeks or lips
  • Cider – a light peachy, pink
  • Cobbler – an orange-toned red
  • Pie – a muted pinky, red
  • Crisp – a warm coral, with golden shimmer
  • Candy – a cool bubblegum pink
  • Caramel – a bronzy, orange shade

My Thoughts

  • I tend to wear these more as blushes, I have tried a couple of colors on my lips, but they don’t tend to wear as long as I’d like them to. On the lips they wore for about 2-3 hours at the most without eating and they weren’t hydrating nor drying.
  • As far as cheek products, these blend magnificently well! They are nicely pigmented and are buildable.
  • All of the shades have a sheen finish to them, except Crisp. Crisp has some golden shimmer throughout, but it’s not overly shimmery–no worries, you won’t look like a disco ball.
  • I have found that mostly all of the shades last about 7-8 hours on the cheeks, without setting them, and I have oily skin–not bad at all. I think dry skin gals, would love these for the cheeks!
  • I have used both my fingers and a stippling brush to apply, both work very well.
  • The palette is of thick, cardboard material–typical The Balm packaging–very cute and whimsical!
  • The palette also has a huge mirror, great for traveling!
  • Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase. It has a great variety of shades that work well all year round!

Thank you all for stopping by, I hope you found this review helpful.

Do you own this palette?

Until next time beauties!
