The Secrets of Blogging | Tag

I usually always have my blogging calendar all scheduled out for the full month…this month has been quite busy and hectic that I haven’t even had time to sit down and think about blogging. A little into why–since I completely stopped posting my daily nuggets, who would like those back?–my husband and I are in the process of selling our home, I decided to start making YouTube videos, we had a ton of family come in for the last 2 weeks…among SO many other things!

So, since I didn’t have anything planned for today…I decided to finish this tag that Kate, from Kate Spitz, tagged me in last month. I love doing and reading tags, I usually always have to push them back, because my calendar for the month is full.

The Secrets of Blogging

1. When did you start blogging and why?

-I started blogging just over a year ago, I had been watching and reading beauty related things for quite some time and I also wanted something to do as a hobby. So my blog was born! It has become a great creative outlet, as well as a something I REALLY enjoy!

2. How many people in “real life” know about your blog?

-Everyone I know, knows about it. At first, I wanted to keep it quiet, but I wasn’t sure why. I’m glad I didn’t, it has opened up a lot of new opportunities for me, and everyone I know personally, seems to enjoy it!

3. What are your favorite posts to read?

-I love product reviews, subscription service reviews, makeup looks and empties. Those are probably some of my favorites, as well as monthly favorites! Like Kate mentioned, there HAS to be good swatches!

4. List a blog you have discovered recently.

-I actually have been a bit busy and haven’t had the time to find new blogs to read, so let me know down below. What are some of your favorite blogs!?

5. Which posts are you most proud of?

-That’s hard, because I’m proud of all my posts. They all take a lot of time and effort, so it’s difficult to only pick one. But if I had to pick, I’d say my first post…it’s actually not the best post, but had I not hit publish, I probably wouldn’t be blogging today!

6. What advice would you give to future bloggers?

-Don’t ever compare your blog to other blogs. Ever! It’s hard not to, but honestly…if you start looking into someone else’s numbers and followers…it’s not going to help. It will bring you down and then you are going to hold resentment towards that person, for no reason. [I hope this makes sense.] All in all, a bloggers numbers aren’t everything. I would much rather have a small amount of followers who actually care and read what I have to say, than have thousands who don’t care or come by. Quality over quantity, always!
