I’m a total makeup hoarder, but that’s no surprise! So when I was going through my sample box I realized that I had yet to try the Ricky’s 3D Blender Sponge I received in one of my Ipsy bags awhile back. I decided to put that baby to good use and compare it with the famous Beauty Blender! So here are my thoughts on whether or not it’s a dupe.
- $20.00
- The unique shape and exclusive material available only with beautyblender® ensures impeccable, streak-free application with minimum product waste. Use it with primers, foundations, powders, cream blushes, and any other complexion product.
- Sephora, BeautyBlender, Birchbox, and Nordstrom
- $10.00
- The Rickycare 3D Blender line is specifically designed to fit the contours of the face. Ergonomically correct and easy-to-use, these mini miracles make foundation application a snap! Colors of sponges vary based on availability. They can be used wet or dry, are 100% latex-free and are completely reusable!
- Ricky’s NYC Online
Final Verdict
Ricky’s Blender is definitely the closest sponge I’ve tried that is similar to the Beauty Blender, but it’s definitely NOT a dupe. The Beauty Blender has actually been patented, so no one will ever be able to come out with something exactly like it. I’ve tried plenty of other sponges, including cheap-y, no-name sponges from Amazon. None have come close to the original, not even the Real Technique’s Miracle Complexion Sponge.
If you are looking to buy something similar to the original and are wanting to save some cash, then the Ricky’s Blender will be your best option. Nothing will ever replace my beloved Beauty Blender, it’s SO good and I highly recommend it! If you are wanting to give the Beauty Blender a try, I actually found a twin pack for under $30! You can find it here! Such a great deal, I may order a backup for my backups! LOL!
Do you own a Beauty Blender? What’s your tool of choice when applying foundation?
