Let me start off by saying that you DON’T have to spend any money to have a blog that you are happy with and is successful. But, if you want to take it to the next level and one day monetize your blog, then eventually you’ll have to put a little money into your blog.
I’ve rounded up 5 INEXPENSIVE blog investments that are worth every penny and will help grow your blog in the long run!
Domain Name
One of the first investments I made toward my blog, was purchasing my domain name. When I purchased my name, I didn’t know if I would eventually want to monetize or not, but it was such an inexpensive purchase that I was okay with spending the money. It was a very simple and easy process, I used GoDaddy and did not have any issues. This one change may not seem like much, but it gives a more professional vibe.
Editing Software
I’ll be honest, I don’t have a fancy editing software, like Photoshop. It’s something that I’m not looking to invest in quite yet. One reason being, I would have NO idea how to use it and I don’t want to spend hours trying to learn. I decided to upgrade from regular PicMonkey, to the PicMonkey Royale Program. It has so many more features, over 1,000 extra overlays, premium fonts, and no ads…making the editing process faster! I went with the annual membership…$33 a year…seriously a steal!
New Template
Rebranding and buying a new template was a seriously a huge improvement for my blog. I immediately noticed more traffic and an increase in followers too. I’ve purchased a few templates on Etsy from Lovely Paris Designs. Maria is the absolute BEST! She was extremely helpful, still is to this day, and has such beautiful work. You can find really inexpensive templates and she will work with you to switch a few things up too. So if you’re in the market for a new template or social icons/headers, definitely check out her Etsy page…you will fall in love with her work — just going thru her page makes me want to revamp my site again! LOL!
Blogging Community
Before getting serious about blogging, I had no idea that there were hundreds of blogging courses being offered! And to be honest, I don’t have the time, nor the money to spend on a course that I may or may not like. So when I was introduced to Blog Boss Babe, I immediately knew it was perfect for me. Advertising
It may sound a little silly to PAY to advertise your work, but it’s worth it! If you have a Facebook Page for your blog, then you have probably seen notifications about “sponsoring” one of your most popular posts. I’ve done it a couple of times and have seen a HUGE increase in traffic to my blog and to my Facebook Page as well. You can also do the same thing on Pinterest, which will help drive EVEN MORE traffic and audience to your blog.
