When I was a teenager I rarely had breakouts, I had pretty good skin and I loved it. But boy, am I paying for it now! My skin has been going haywire lately, and it doesn’t help that a bronzer I used caused an even worse breakout around my cheeks. But acne isn’t my only problem, I also have textured skin. I don’t know how to describe it…it isn’t acne and it’s not dry patches either…it just feels textured.
I exfoliate two to three times a week and nothing seemed to help…nothing! Until I tried the Pixi Glow Tonic Toner! I’ll admit, I went into it thinking this wasn’t going to do anything and it was just an overpriced, overrated product. Boy, this toner proved me WRONG!
Pixi’s Glow Tonic Toner has 5% Glycolic Acid — what is glycolic acid? Well, it’s a natural ingredient derived from sugar cane, it’s part of the AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) molecules. Glycolic Acid is an exoliator, it removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, bringing fresh, new skin to the surface. This also helps brighten this skin by helping diminish the pigmentation of age spots and helps with acne prone skin. You can read more about glycolic acid and it’s benefits, here!
5% is a small amount, most dermatologists office provide in-office peels that have 30-40% glycolic acid. Which are quick and obviously more effective. But we don’t all have the luxury of going to get peels every so often.
Now, I’m on skincare expert, but I’ve seen such an improvement in my skin! I’ve been using this toner for a month now and I can tell you guys that the texture on my skin is now gone. I am getting over the horrible breakout caused by the bronzer, but before that, my skin looked so fresh and healthy! I wish I had before and after pictures, but like I said, I didn’t think this was going to do anything to my skin.
This is a product that I think everyone should try, or at least find a product that contains glycolic acid and incorporate it to your skincare regimen.
