By now most of you might be aware that I have become a planner addict, not only does it keep my life organized, but it’s also fun and so relaxing to sit and decorate my planner. Now, many people find it “pointless” or “useless” to decorate your planner, to each their own. I actually used to think, way back when, that it was a waste of time, but over time, I have really grown to like it and the entire planner community is incredibly amazing.
On to the purpose of this post! If you are looking to get into planning, for the pure functionality of it. I have a few things that I think are essential to get started!
First off, you’ll obviously need a planner. Honestly, any planner will do, but the one pictured above is from Me And My Big Ideas, I have truly fallen in love with the company and their products. Everything they make is high quality but at a really affordable price tag…who doesn’t like that?! Homegoods, TJMaxx and Target have great planners as well…I don’t think splurging on a planner is necessary, but again, to each their own.
Next, you will need pens! I’m BIG on pens…I have SO many and I’m really picky about them too. I really like the Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens in medium point. They come in a variety of colors, which is so much fun. But any pen that you like will obviously work! 😉
Moving on to STICKERS! Okay, so I’ll admit I’m sticker obsessed…but you can definitely stick to functional stickers…which is how I started. I’ve now moved on to purchasing stickers on Etsy, but I also buy from MAMBI because they have some amazing functional stickers packs. By functional stickers I mean, appointment labels, to do stickers, birthday reminders, etc. You can find so many different and inexpensive packs at Michael’s.
Now, washi tape is not really a MUST…but if you want to add a little color, washi tape is the way to go. It’s so easy to use and they have SO many varieties now a days. Again, I like the washi rolls from MAMBI, but the Recollections brand from Michael’s is also great and affordable.
Lastly, sticky notes! Now I think these are a total must! I like to jot things down quickly on sticky notes and then later write it on my planner when I know exactly what day it needs to get done.
That wraps it up for my planner essentials, guys! Now, I’d like to know, are you a planner? What are some of YOUR must haves?
