Skin care is not my strong suit, but in order to have good makeup application, you must have a good canvas to start with. So I try my best to take good care of my skin. Growing up, I never went through an acne phase, I had really good skin and only wore powder foundation. As I’ve gotten older, my skin had changed. It’s always been super sensitive, but I now consider my skin to be oily and acne prone, gosh I miss my normal skin years!
The products I’ll be sharing today are good for normal skin, but geared towards oily skin for sure. I am looking to add a few products into my routine that are more suitable for acne prone skin as well, so if you have any recommendations, definitely let me know in the comments section.
Facial Cleansers / Makeup Removers
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – This is a newer product to me, but I have really enjoyed it so far. I don’t like using this on it’s own, it DOESN’T wash of ALL makeup, I mainly use this to remove my makeup before working out.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes – My all time favorite makeup removing wipes, I’ve tried several but I always come back to these.
Philosophy Purity Made Simple – If you want to remove every trace of makeup from your face, yes…even stubborn mascara, use this!
Pixi Skintreats Glow Mud Cleanser – I recently started using this and I really like it, I’m not sure if this is what helped clear my skin, a few days into using it my breakouts started to diminish.
Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser – I’ve used this for years, it’s a perfect daily cleanser!
Moisturizers
St. Ives Timeless Skin – I’ve used different moisturizers but I just haven’t found one that I’m in love with, so I always seem to re-purchase this one. It’s lightweight and scent free, and it has anti-aging properties, which is a plus!
Origins GinZing Eye Cream – I LOVE this eye cream! I use it every morning without fail, it hasn’t helped diminish my undereye darkness, but it’s cooling and super hydrating.
Derma-e Firming DMAE Eye Lift – I recently started using this eye cream at night, and I’m liking it. Since it’s a newer product, it’s not necessarily my “favorite” but I figured I would throw this in the mix.
Masks
Micheal Todd Kaolin Clay Detoxifying Mask – Another oldie but a goodie! I’ve been using this mask for years and it’s never failed me.
Formula 10.06 Pores Be Pure – I use this mask about once a month and concentrate it on my pores, really good and affordable.
Pixi Skintreats Glow Mud Mask – This mask is amazing…as it’s drying you can see all of the oil coming up to the surface!
Scrubs
Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Scrub – When it comes to scrubs my skin is extra sensitive, I can’t use many, so I’ve used this one for years and I’m obsessed with it. It’s sensitive enough for my skin but it still does it’s job.
Toners
Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic – I’ve used several toners but this by far, is my all time favorite. I used to have textured skin and I no longer have this problem, thanks to this toner. I can’t see myself using anything else, anytime soon.
Lip Treatments
Borghese Conditioning Lip Polish – Unfortunately, I have really dry lips, so I have to scrub them often and keep them hydrating. This is a really nice and gentle scrub that gets rid of the dead skin and but doesn’t dry out your lips.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy – I HAVE gone through a million tubes of this balm for sure! I’m super picky when it comes to lip balms and this is my absolute favorite and staple in my bag!
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm – I mainly use this balm at night time, it’s cooling and I wake up with super moisturized lips.
