Most of you probably know by now that I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing women in my area who share a lot of the same passions as I do. Thankfully, we have been able to meet several times, get to know each other better and talk blog stuff. A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending probably the neatest event ever. A Cocktails & Crowns Flower Party with Poppies And Peonies. It was such a fun night!
Our night started off at Jux-Ta-Posh, which is the cutest boutique located in the Lubbock Depot District. Kim, the sweet owner, hand picks a lot of the items she sells and boy, does she have an eye for style. I left there wanting every.single.thing! After exploring the shop a bit, we were treated to some sweet treats from Evie Mae’s BBQ. They were so tasty and I can’t wait for the grand opening of her bakery…I think I will be the first one in line. Oh, and of course, we had our cocktails in hand!
Michelle, the beautiful owner of Poppies And Peonies, began by telling us how she got started and how her services work, which you can find more info on all of that here. I love that she had a vision for something more than just your regular flower shop, really and truly, such a genius idea. A party with your girlfriends, cocktails and flower crowns!? Yes, please! PS – She travels you guys! So if you are in the DFW area, she can come to you! Imagine how fun a baby shower or bridal shower with Michelle would be!?
So after she gave us some ideas on what we could put together for our crowns…I kind of freaked out a little bit. I’m not gonna lie…I’m not really crafty, so I was scared my crown would come out looking like a bird’s nest. But Michelle, is a wonderful teacher and walks you step by step and has the most beautiful selections of flowers. I honestly had a hard time choosing what I wanted on my crown. I wanted them ALL!
After finishing our crowns, we had to have a photo shoot…of course. We wouldn’t be bloggers if we didn’t! Amber from Honeybee Photography was the BEST! Super sweet and made us feel so comfortable. Albeit, these girls are fashion bloggers so they are used to being in front of the camera and I’m not. But Amber was amazing…I mean, just look at all of these pictures!?
After braving the crazy West Texas wind, we made our way back inside the shop and Michelle let us know that the leftover flowers from her parties are all donated to the local NICU in Lubbock, you can read more about her story here. So touching.
Michelle also put together the absolute cutest little gifts for us — an adorable mug filled with chocolate (which you can purchase here, total must have for any mug lover) a succulent, a beautiful flower crown, and gorgeous wire basket. Such gorgeous presentation!
For all of my locals, you must check out her weekly Flower Bar! Every Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm, Michelle puts together a flower bar, where you can choose what flowers or succulents, you’d like and she works her magic! You can take home a beautiful arrangement or gift if to a friend. I can’t wait to pay her a visit, soon!
A huge thanks to Kim, Michelle, Amber, and Evie Mae’s for putting together such a wonderful event and for hosting us!
