It’s been awhile since I posted something a bit more personal here, so when my girlfriend Steffanie from Brighter, Darling tagged me to do this (awhile back, I am just getting around to it) I was excited for her questions. I love getting to know more about my favorite bloggers, so I hope y’all enjoy getting to know more about me too.
Why did you start your blog?
Honestly, I thought it was going to be an easy hobby, boy was I wrong. It’s definitely not easy, but it has turned into just more than hobby — which is something that I’m really proud of. I never in a million years would have thought that this little space of mine would become a “job” — I remember randomly searching for some hair product 5 years ago and stumbling upon The Small Things Blog — I was instantly hooked. I became an everyday reader, found more blogs and eventually thought to myself, “hey, I can do this too!”
What has been your favorite post to write?
Really? I have over 500 posts…I can’t pick just one…BUT, if I had to, I think I would go for my holiday gift guides. They always do so well and I honestly really enjoy putting them together.
If you blog about makeup, what’s been your favorite item of the year? If you blog about fashion, what’s been your favorite trend lately?
My favorite item of the year — it has to be the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. I have been trying not to buy products that I don’t need, but when this was released…I fell in love and it hasn’t disappointed.
Cookies or brownies?
Oh this is easy, brownies!
Coffee or tea?
I love me some sweet Texas Iced Tea and some good ‘ole coffee — so both!
What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
Let little Charlie out to go potty. I used to grab my phone and check my notifications, but I’ve stopped that habit — I normally don’t check my phone until after breakfast, so around 9 or so.
What’s your bedtime/nightly routine like?
After dinner, I finish prepping mine and my husband’s work lunches, clean the kitchen, make sure my blog post/social media is good to go for the next day, and usually end the night by watching some TV with my husband. We live for football season, so right now we are eating, breathing, everything football!
Favorite place in your state?
Now that is HARD! Texas is such a beautiful state…I love San Antonio, the River Walk is one of our favorites. But we also adore Dallas and it’s surrounding areas. It’s hard, so I love it all.
