Anyone else have to do the spray into the air and shimmy-thru dance when applying perfume?! I do — not with all perfumes, but with a lot of them. I’m quite sensitive to scents, which can trigger migraines, so I am careful about what I wear. In today’s post, I’m sharing my top 3 perfumes, that I think you’ll like too!

Best Sophisticated Perfumes

When it comes to perfumes, I am extremely picky! I can’t wear just any perfume or I’ll get a headache, sometimes leading to a migraine. It’s quite annoying, to be honest. So I thought I’d share the 3 perfumes that smell divine, but don’t cause headaches and aren’t stuffy either. 

This perfume takes me back to my high school days. I have been wearing Ralph Lauren’s Ralph for YEARS! It’s been a favorite and I might go as far as saying it’s my signature scent. It’s a light scent that perfect for everyday wear. 

• Notes of apple, citrus zest, and mandarin followed by aquatic mid notes of freesia, magnolia, and linden flower. The base features light notes of white musk and orris. 

Moving on to my college year fragrance. I discovered this when it was gifted to me, shocking as I don’t like getting perfumes as gifts, since I’m so sensitive to scents. But it’s been a favorite since…I’ve repurchased it several times and even have the rollerball version too. Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy is such a fun and lively scent and the packaging is just so cute! 

• Features notes of wild berries and juicy mandarin followed by honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine. Finishes with notes of amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline.

Lastly, my absolute (hands-down) holy-grail perfume is Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb! I know, I know, I said they are all my favorite…but if I could only wear one perfume for the rest of my life, it would be this one. It’s the perfect mixture of florals (which I don’t normally gravitate towards) but they nailed this scent! It’s quite pricey for a perfume, but SO worth it. I always get compliments when I’m wearing it too. 

• Fragrance Notes — Bergamot, orange blossom, jasmine, rose, freesia, vanilla, praline and patchouli. 

That rounds it out for the best sophisticated perfumes that aren’t stuffy and don’t cause a headache. I have several other perfumes, but don’t wear them as often as I wear these. Occasionally I opt for body mists, mainly during the hot months, because they aren’t as heavy.
