Hi friends and happy new year! I hope you’ve had a wonderful start of 2020. We have been super busy moving into our new house and getting settled in. Over on Instagram I asked if y’all wanted to see more home type posts and I got a ton of yes’s, so keep an eye out for those in the future. For now, let’s dive into today’s post.
8 Beauty Tips For Winter
Don’t Forget The Sunscreen
Just because it’s cold and gloomy out, it doesn’t mean you should skip out on the sunscreen. Opt for something with an SPF of 50 or higher.
Don’t Forget Your Hands
My hands, especially my fingers, tend to get extremely dry during the colder months. During those frigid days, don’t forget to wear gloves and always keep your hands moisturized.
Hydrate From The Inside Out
This one is a hard one for probably all of us. But drinking water is essential for so many things, not just hydration. It speeds up your metabolism, gives your skin a healthy glow, helps maintain blood pressure and it helps deliver oxygen throughout the body. You can find out how much water you should be drinking per day, in this post.
Get Rid Of Dry, Flaky Skin
Not only is dry, flaky skin not flattering, it’s also painful! In order for your moisturizer to really work and penetrate your skin, you must exfoliate and get rid of those flakes. Use a body scrub a few times a week in the shower and follow up with a body oil or creamy moisturizer.
Use A Humidifier
Using a humidifier, especially in your bedroom at night, is a foolproof way to help keep your skin supple, especially during the dry months. Adding moisture to the air will help your skin recover from any damage from the dry, cold air.
Take Care Of Your Scalp
Coconut oil is a great “treatment” for dry scalp. Use it once a week, if you suffer from severe dry scalp, or just once every couple of weeks to give your hair and scalp moisture. Simply rub it into your dry hair and leave in for 45 minutes.
Take Care Of Your Lips
Keep your pout kiss ready by using a gentle scrub and good balm daily. If you don’t have a scrub, an old toothbrush or a wet washcloth will do the trick. Using a humidifier and drinking plenty of water, also help keep your lips flake-free.
MOISTURIZE
Using a moisturizer is such an obvious thing to do, but it’s one most may not be doing correctly. You must choose a product that not only works for your skin type but also one that works for your face. That means having 2 different moisturizers.
