Finding exactly what you want for your babies room can be hard, I finally settled for a more traditional boy nursery look, versus a set theme.

I’ve been promising this post for too long! I finally had some time to sit down and put it all together. It’s going to be picture heavy, so let’s get started!
Traditional Boy Nursery
When it came down to choosing a theme, I was pretty set from the beginning that I didn’t really want one. I started off by picking what colors I wanted (gray, navy and sage) and then chose the big pieces, like furniture, etc. It got a little hard when I started shopping around for crib bedding…you can find SO many options for a baby girl, but baby boy bedding is a different story. Your only options are pretty much animals, more animals, cars, more animals, galaxy and more animals. Ya get what I’m saying? I finally found a gorgeous set from Pottery Barn Kids. It’s beautiful and something that can grow with him, which is exactly what I wanted out of his room, hence the more traditional boy nursery “theme.”
The crib and dresser/changing table are both from Target, which are sold out, but I’ve linked really similar options from the same line. I opted for a regular, large dresser over an actual changing table because, again, I wanted something that could grow with him and could be used for many years. The TV stand/book case is also from Target.
Obviously, everything in the crib will NOT be in there once we transition him into his room. He is still sleeping in our room, in his bassinet (which I highly recommend this bassinet if you have a baby that loves movement and white noise.) It’s pricey, but SO worth it. The 3 frames on the accent wall where a total last minute find at HomeGoods. I had already “finished” the nursery when my mom stumbled upon the 3 pack of baby animal canvases. They have the sage green I incorporated and navy, so I figured why not!? And yes, we have a dog bed in his room because our dogs like to join us when I’m in there feeding him, changing him, etc.
The square pouf was a TJMaxx find and the foot rest was a Ross find, but we are using it as a little side table instead of a foot rest. It has gold feet on it, I think I’m going to spray paint them black…what do you think? It comes in handy to set my phone on while I’m feeding him, or even just to set his car seat on.
The bracket shelves are some of my favorite! I purchased a couple of cute wall art prints from Hobby Lobby, some greenery from Target, added a few little knick-knacks (like the giraffe piggy bank) and called it good. HIs name sign was from a local boutique and the floating book racks were from Wayfair. We have a variety of books, even some in Spanish, since we speak Spanish to him.

That about wraps up todays post! I hope you enjoyed taking a look into our sweet boys nursery. I honestly never thought I would be able to decorate that room into a nursery one day. For the longest time it was empty, then it became our storage room, and after so much loss and heartbreak…I kept the door shut for months. I’m so grateful God opened a door for us to be parents. Now this room is one of the most used in our house, and I would not have it any other way.
