As most of you may remember, a few months ago I held a reader survey asking what you liked seeing on Beauty With Lily, as well as what you would like to see less of. I can’t say I was surprised when I found out that my infertility posts weren’t the favorites. But at the same time, most people said they wanted to see more personal posts. Which kind of puts me at a dead end…
Infertility is a BIG part of my personal life and there are other parts of my personal life, I’m not willing to share online. Which may sound crazy…why am I sharing something so personal but I can’t share my family and outings? I chose to put myself out on the internet, so it’s not up to me to put my family and friends out there. So can you see why I’m at a dead end? What else can I share that’s personal? I don’t have kids…I’m not a traveler…I don’t have any other hobbies besides makeup and planning…so what’s left?
I had a sweet blog friend recently ask me how things were going because she hadn’t seen any updates — which kind of prompted this semi-update. PS – I’m extremely thankful and grateful for those of you who have reached out and asked me about our journey and for all of those who continue to pray for us — your prayers and love don’t go unnoticed and thank you is just not enough. I will always hold a special place in my heart for those of you who take time out of your busy lives to pray for us.
We have taken a “break” from all of our fertility medication and treatments. I say break lightly because although we aren’t trying in the medical sense, we aren’t giving up hope and praying for a miracle. But as you can see, in this last year and half of being on break, we still have no baby.
So after some serious talking and much prayer, my husband and I have decided it’s time to have bariatric weight loss surgery. And I know what many people will more thank likely say or think — why don’t you just diet or workout — we have, for many years and still nothing. This isn’t something that we are taking lightly, we have seen many doctors, have had dozens of tests and blood work done, it’s something we need at this point. We aren’t giving up, we are just moving on to the next step after years of failed diets, workout regimens, etc.
So that’s where we are! We are only in the beginning stages of everything, so my question to you is…would you like to be updated on this, on the blog…or maybe vlog? (If you are part of my email list, you already got a little inside of all of this and I’ve heard back from some of you, thank you for replying — you can sign up here for my newsletter, I promise it’s good.)
Thank you for listening to my rambles and I hope to be back soon with an update, if that’s something you would like to see more of. Until then my friends, I’ll be back on Wednesday with my regular beauty/fashion/lifestyle posts.
